I think you are right. But I am finding out more and more that I prefer road to mountain. I mean the occasional stint on trails is ok, but I just don't find much joy in climbing rocks and such. Long stretches of roads however, that makes me happy. And it is not always safe or not challenging as I seek to find routes that ask me to step up.

I am a roadie, too. I still like mt bike sometimes, but I'd rather hike on the mountain trails an ride the mt roads. They are different sports and to be a good mt biker, you need a relaxed state, on the trail, like a swimmer has in water.

Ha! I suddenly have the urge to take my SS mt bike for a ride!
